Care Instructions

1. Washing & Cleaning

• Wash only when needed — around every 5–10 wears or when product build-up is visible.
• Use a sulphate-free shampoo, preferably the same gentle one you’d use on your natural hair.
• Gently rinse the ponytail with water, running from top to ends.
• Apply a light sulphate-free conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends for extra softness.
• You can also apply a small amount of light serum or leave-in spray once it’s dry to help prevent tangling and keep the fibres smooth.
• Smooth product through in a downward motion — no scrubbing or twisting.
• Rinse well and let it air dry naturally. Avoid brushing while wet.

2. Detangling & Styling

• Always detangle before and after each wear using a wide-tooth comb.
• Start at the ends and gently work your way up.
• Do not sleep with your ponytail on, and avoid swimming or high-wind situations while wearing it.

3. Heat Styling

• Our ponytails are heat-resistant up to 180°C.
• Use low to medium heat only, and always test a small section first.
• Never use a hair dryer after washing — synthetic fibres don’t tolerate direct drying heat. Always let your ponytail air dry naturally.
• Avoid applying too much heat to tinsel strands (like in our Sparkle Braid or shimmer styles) — heat can melt or damage these delicate accents.

4. Storage

• After detangling, store your ponytail in its New Style by Maye packaging box or satin bag to protect the fibres.
• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture for long-lasting shine and smoothness.

5. Important Notes

• Do not dye or bleach synthetic ponytails.
• Minimal shedding is normal, especially during the first few wears.
• With good care, your ponytail will stay smooth and wearable for several months.
